Talking about adoption with your children is a delicate balance – one that parents have to learn because it is not necessarily an intuitive skill. If parents have to learn how to talk about adoption, whether it is about birth families, orphanages, or abandonment, then adopted youth definitely need to learn how to talk about adoption, and how to navigate the complexities that come with it.
