Tara Kim- Tara has been active in the adoption community for over eight years. She has founded and led adoptee community groups, led adoptee youth groups, and served on the board of Adoption Mosaic for two and a half years. She currently serves as Adoption Mosaic’s webmaster, blogger and newsletter editor. Tara was adopted from Korea at the age of two.
Livia Montana – Livia is a writer currently working on a novel and collection of poetry. Her study of literature and philosophy intensified her interest in how the adoptive experience affects triad members. She was adopted from Portugal when she was four and a half years old.
Astrid Dabbeni: Astrid has a degree in sociology with an emphasis in adoption. She travels the country to lead youth groups, present workshops on transracial parenting, talking with children about adoption and various other workshops focusing on adoption. Astrid has worked in adoptions for over 14 years. Her life-long interest in adoption is rooted in her own adoption at the age of four with her older sister from Colombia. Astrid is the Executive Director and co-founder of Adoption Mosaic.

Dawn Friedman: Dawn is a professional writer and the mother of Noah (born to her in 1997) and Madison (born to her first mom, Pennie, in 2004 and brought to Dawn’s family through a domestic, open adoption). She owns and operates Open Adoption Support, and is currently writing a book with Jenna Hatfield examining how openness is changing adoption practice in America.

Mei-Ling Huang: Mei-Ling is an Taiwanese adult adoptee who sent out a translated letter via Babelfish to her biological family’s address back in May 2006. For the next few years, she sent letters and exchanged pictures online with her biological siblings. In early June of 2009 she visited Taiwan to stay in her family’s residence until the end of August. Melissa Konomos: Melissa is, among other things, a Korean adoptee who was adopted by an American family at the age of six months old in the 1970’s. After a 7-year search, Melissa discovered in January 2009 that her biological mother and biological father were alive, living in Korea and waiting to meet her. She and her husband traveled to Korea to meet them for the first time in June of 2009, and Melissa made another trip to Korea that same year in September. Shelise Gieseke: Shelise is a Korean adoptee with an undergraduate degree in communication and is interested in the way society shapes the adoptee experience through language. She was raised on a farm in southern Minnesota with three siblings who were not adopted. Shelise is excited to work with all members of the adoption constellation to create a safe and open learning environment.
